The 2009 Doha Gymnasiade will see some 3,000 international students between the age of 15 and 18 come to Qatar to compete in Aquatics (Swimming & and Diving), Athletics and Gymnastics events.

The 2009 Gymnasiade is organised by the Ministry of Education of Qatar which has been appointed by the International School Sport Federation (ISF). The organisation is a joint venture between the Ministry of Education and the Qatar Olympic Committee.
